On June, 4 an international online meeting with foreign colleagues (The Open University, GB; Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Ukraine) was held, where the main directions for improving the ERASMUS+ CBHE project «Enhancement of Lifelong Learning in Belarus / BELL».

Yury Kalesnik, the head of Life Long Learning Institute at GSTU moderated the meeting.

Colleagues from Belarussian universities, who participated in the course “Energy and Resource Saving ” development took part in an online-meeting, among them were Belorussian State Agricultural Academy, Vitebsk State University , Brest State Technical University and Polotsk State University.

Despite the epidemiological situation in the world due to the COVID-19 outbreak, meetings with project colleagues continue, but are held in an online form. Colleagues from universities in the UK, Sweden, Spain and Latvia give recommendations on improvement of the developed online courses and the further use of the electronic educational platform MOODLE.

Our colleagues from the UK shared the idea to add the environmental and ecological topics to the course in order to have greater social impact. Moreover the work on improvement of technical characteristics of the course is planned to be done in order to increase usability o the course for mobile phone users.

As an external expert from Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University paid attention to the necessity of the course promotion for society and the general improvement of the course materials. Decisions were made about the additional use of interactive tasks in order to diversify the course.

Life Long Learning Institute at Sukhoi State Technical University of Gomel is the coordinator of the course “Energy and Resource Saving ” development.

In April 2020 the first launch of a series of distance learning courses for the population was completed. The courses covered five popular areas: “English”, “Information Security”, “Legal Literacy”, “Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy”, “Energy and Resource Saving in the Household”.

Currently, the work on improvement of the content and design of courses is being performed. Teachers from 6 Belarusian universities participating in the project are exchanging experiences on the results of distance learning courses with partners from the European Union.

Based on the results of online meetings, intensive work is being done to improve all 5 courses for their re-launch in August 2020.
